The LITERACY 5000 is part of a national tradition sponsored by the International Dyslexia Association, The Dyslexia Dash, and aims to promote recognition of dyslexia and the many efficient and effective strategies for helping with literacy issues. This event is the 3rd Annual 5K/1K race sponsored by the Inland Empire Branch. Come and celebrate our new tradition with us!! Awards and medals will be presented, with an option of certificates.
We will be running/walking within beautiful Fairmont Park. This Olmsted-designed park (he also designed Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City) features rose gardens, several lakes, a bandshell, and a beautiful restored historic boathouse. Our 5K Dash is to promote awareness of dyslexia and other learning difficulties and to raise funds to aid on-going programs in four major areas: information, referrals, conferences, workshops.
