Developing and Managing an Effective Volunteer Program

Volunteers are a valued resource for non-profits to help sustain the mission and programs of the organization. A national focus on promoting volunteerism and an increased pool of individuals with professional skills and experiences willing to give back to the community makes now an ideal time to
strengthen the effectiveness of your volunteer program. This two part workshop is designed to look at ways to effectively understand, recruit, train and supervise volunteers.
In Session I, participants will:
· Understand trends in volunteering.
· Identify key components of a volunteer
program
· Learn how to write position
descriptions
· Recruitment and placement strategies
· Develop an evaluation plan

"Dining in the Dark" will seat you in a literally pitch black dining room where you will be guided and served by visually impaired or totally blind servers that have been specially trained to serve meals in the dark!
